About us
What we publish, how we choose it and how we make a living
What PerúTravel is
PerúTravel is an independent travel guide to Peru. We publish 95 listings — hotels, tours, restaurants, experiences and car rental — across 9 destinations, plus 15 practical guides, in Spanish, English and Portuguese.
We are not a travel agency and we do not sell anything. We do not hold inventory, take bookings or handle payments. Every listing links out to whoever actually sells the service: the operator directly, or a booking platform. What you pay, you pay to them, under their terms.
How we make a living
Two ways, and both are disclosed on the page where they apply. Most listings carry affiliate links: if you book through one, the seller pays us a commission at no extra cost to you. Some listings are sponsored — an operator pays a monthly fee to appear — and those are labelled "Sponsored" wherever they show up, including in our structured data and our machine-readable feeds.
We do not accept payment to alter a rating, remove criticism, or hide the sponsored label. An operator can pay for placement; they cannot pay for a verdict.
How we choose what to publish
Listings are chosen for being worth a traveller's time and money, and checked against the operator's own material before publishing. When an operator gives us details — meeting point, group size, what is and is not included — we publish those as they gave them, and say so.
We do not invent ratings. A listing with no reviews shows as new rather than carrying a number we made up. Photographs are either supplied by the operator or licensed from Wikimedia Commons and Unsplash, and every one of them is credited.
Corrections
If something here is wrong — a price, an address, a claim about your business — write to hola@perutravel.lat and we will fix it. Operators can request corrections to their own listing at no cost, whether or not they pay us anything.
